Corinne uses quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze how technologies like digital games, virtual and augmented reality, and simulations affect how people feel, make decisions, and learn. Her user research has guided the development of experiences that combine education and entertainment in every proportions.
Her dissertation examined the cognitive and emotional effects of redesigning the patient used in a virtual reality simulation for dental students learning to deliver an anesthetic injection. (Ask her about her favorite approach to the inferior alveolar nerve block!)
Corinne is currently the Director of Learning at Killer Snails, making educational websites and extended reality experiences to inspire a love of science in middle school students.
Corinne holds a BA in Psychology from Cornell University, an MSc in Social Psychology and Psychological Methods from the University of Amsterdam, and a PhD in Educational Communication and Technology from New York University.
In her spare time, Corinne enjoys Dutch reality TV, freehand embroidery, and running. She’s really good at the NYT crossword.
